The Ashaway Volunteer Fire Association is an ALL volunteer department that operates out of one station and protects the Village of Ashaway, RI.  Ashaway is part of the Town of Hopkinton and is located in southwestern RI. The ASHAWAY VOLUNTEER FIRE ASSOCIATION IS AN ISO CLASS  4 FIRE DPEARTMENT.

Our district encompasses 22 square miles with a population of around 5000. Interstate Rt 95 runs through our district for about 4 miles and most of our town boundries are rivers. Ashaway is about 6 miles from the Atlantic Ocean, so summers get pretty busy with all the tourism.

Ashaway is basically a bedroom community, however about 2 years ago some industry started building new facilities near Rt 95. Currently there are 5 new businesses located there, with more in the planning stages.

Three years ago our district taxpayers approved $2,700,000. for a complete renovation and additions to our firehouse. It is 98% complete now and is just great. (Pics will be added soon.)
